It is time to fight! One way to fight is through the use of the growing ‘boykotts” nationwide. We have lost—at least temporarily—millions of dollars of grant programs that have simply been canceled and deleted on federal websites.
Not honoring commitments to programs encouraging attention to diversity and equity hurts all marginalized persons, from homeless to Blacks and from LGBTQ+ members to persons with disabilities. Some unhoused persons belong to all four of those communities – and other communities in addition.
As professionals, and street helpers who assist the unkeyed who are living outdoors instead of inside, we must join the ranks of Americans who boycott the companies not caring about opportunities and protections for the often disenfranchised among us.
Now, we must honor the boycotts.
We must find other products and services that will take the place of the items we can no longer accept. We cannot accept coffee or bank loans or shirts or shorts that do not help the disenfranchised receive the rights and respect they are entitled to.
Companies being boycotted because of dropping DEI and similar programs, including rights for LGBTQ+ persons: Amazon, CocaCola, Google, McDonalds, Pepsi, Target, and more (selon msn): https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/human-resources/dei-boycott-list-all-companies-that-ended-dei-policies-confirmed/ar-AA1zVTTf
The above is just one list that can help you avoid giving money to companies who have abandoned persons in need. There are many more lists. You can search them, and you can start longer lists by sharing with others in your networks.
StreetSense hopes you as professionals and helpers will meet the challenge and do what is right: Simply buy something else.
Please feel free to share this information with others in your networks. Be aware also that there are forces afoot meant to fight us as we fight for DEI and other programs and policies important for social justice.
Be aware that there are those who will attempt to delete your posts or emails about this topic. In the interest of community standards, for example. This will be one of the common lies used to thwart this process.
Be prepared to use different spellings and code words to introduce your posts and emails and to highlight your subjects. One simple way is to use different words also.
Examples:
Do what is fare.
Help do what is equal.
Please read this information on the current nationwide boykotts.

Note:
Thank you for your time. Together we can help the unhoused and other disenfranchised persons work to regain their dignity. As if the homeless and poor did not have things hard enough, now there are those persons full of hatred who will make it even harder for people to survive this harsh world.
Thank you, as always, for helping persons on the street, on the train, and in those sleeping in shelters and dumpsters who deserve a life of dignity. And perhaps a little hope.
