Chicago Warming Centers Info--Temps to Dip Saturday Night!
Below 0 degrees F temps Saturday night to Wednesday morning
Dear Friends,
This is important news for those helping our unhoused brothers and sisters in Chicago.
Temperatures in Chicago will drop Saturday night (Jan. 18) and will not rebound until Wednesday late morning! Here are the forecasted temps for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights:
8, -1, -1, and 2 degrees Fahrenheit!
That’s -13, -18, -18, and -16 Celsius!
New arrivals to Chicago may have NO idea how cold it can get here in the city of wind… explaining that they MUST seek shelter is essential!
Explain that the Chicago warming centers operate ONLY FROM 9 AM TO 5 PM.
Here is the info on warming centers:

Notice this additional info from the Chicago site: “Warming Center hours may be extended, along with activation of other supports, when the Office of Emergency Management and Communications enacts the City’s Emergency Operations Plan for extreme cold conditions as defined by the National Weather Service.” Please visit the OEMC website for up-to-date information during extreme weather events.”
Reminders:
Call 3-1-1:
If you are seeking a warm place to go after hours.
To request a shelter placement.
Hoping we can keep our homeless citizens warm!
Sincerely,
